Screening Process

When sewage enters an STP, it first passes through screens that remove plastic, cloth, leaves, and other large waste materials. This protects the treatment equipment and ensures smooth operations.

Removal of Solids

The wastewater then moves into settling tanks where heavy particles sink to the bottom as sludge, while oil and grease are separated from the surface.

Biological Treatment

In aeration tanks, beneficial bacteria break down organic pollutants. Oxygen is supplied continuously to help microorganisms clean the water naturally.

Filtration and Disinfection

The treated water is filtered and disinfected using UV rays, chlorine, or ozone treatment. It can then be reused for landscaping, industrial use, and other non-drinking purposes.
