Progress Review Meeting Held
The Haryana government has set a deadline of December 2027 for the completion of all ongoing and proposed Yamuna pollution-control projects. During a high-level review meeting, Chief Secretary Anurag Rastogi assessed the progress of various initiatives and directed departments to accelerate their work.
Focus on Wastewater Treatment
The state is working on several projects aimed at expanding sewage treatment and industrial effluent management capacity. These initiatives are expected to significantly reduce the amount of untreated wastewater entering the Yamuna and improve overall water quality.
New Infrastructure Across Key Districts
Major projects are being implemented in districts including Panipat, Karnal, Gurugram, Sonipat, and Faridabad. The plans include the construction and upgrading of sewage treatment plants and common effluent treatment facilities to better manage waste before it reaches the river.
Emphasis on Timely Completion
Officials have been instructed to ensure that all projects are completed within the stipulated timeline. The Chief Secretary also stressed strict compliance with pollution-control standards and stronger coordination among departments to achieve the state’s river-cleaning goals.
